Engine Plates

When I began my V8 conversion I had two 3/8 6061 Aluminum engine mounting plates that were made by Renegade Hybrids for their standard conversion with AC.

The Renegade plates were machined to mount a mechanical water pump and 6 rib serpentine belt tensioner on the right side ( passenger side) and to mount the alternator, AC compressor, an optional emissions compressor, and idler pulley on the left side ( drivers side ).

Since I did not want a mechanical water pump, and the hole for mounting a mechanical pump interfered with where I wanted to mount the supercharger, I decided to cut some new plates. I also had a clearance issue on the left plate where the alternator location came in contact with the #2 spark plug requiring the removal of the alternator to change the plug.

I decided to relocate the alternator and AC compressor in the left plate to allow more clearance and to move the 6 rib serpentine tensioner from the right plate to the left plate. This keeps all the 6 rib serpentine belt components on the left plate and all of the 12 rib supercharger components on the right plate.

A lot of measuring and sketching later I made a prototype set of plates from Binfang Board ( foam core art board ) and everything looked good so I made some CAD files from them.

You can download my CAD files if you want to make a set of Supercharger compatible plates. >>>>>>>

I ordered a 1' x 4' spice of 3/8 6061 Aluminum from metalsdepot.com for $130 and dropped it in the CNC machine. You can get your local machine shop to CNC these plates from the CAD file for less than $200 I would think.

I will drill all of my bolt holes on the drill press as I want to do them one at a time to make sure I get everything fitting properly. I may also either polish and clear podercoat the plates as they will be more visible in my installation.

NOTE: The area behind (engine side of plate) where the AC compressor mounts needs to me milled down 0.100" so the Ac compressor pulley protrudes further through the 3/8 plate.

NOTE: These plates require the removal of the rear tow hooks that are welded to the frame to clear the AC compressor and the supercharger.

NOTE: Plates are for mounting a PROCHARGER D1SC Supercharger.
