Water Pump

I started out with the water pump that came with the Renegades kit which consisted of a cast aluminum body with a rear center inlet and two side outlets. This cast body accepted a big block GM impeller and was belt driven as an accessory on the aluminum engine mounting plate.

I ran the car with this pump for a while and it seemed to do the job but I wanted the ability to run the cooling cycle for 60-90 seconds after shutting down the engine and I wanted to run the pump at maximum efficacy regardless of RPM.

I started looking at electric pumps and did a lot of research and comparison. The best product I could find was made by Meziere. It is a billit aluminum 55GPM remote mount water pump. This pump is now on a delay circuit that runs the pump for 90 seconds after shutdown. I am very happy with this pump and it is very quiet.

I have an the following for water cooling:

Aluminum 2 core Becool radiator ( rated for 1000hp )
2 x 14" Permacool electric fans
180deg temp switch on radiator midpoint for fan #1
180deg temp switch on radiator exit for fan #2
Aerospace components block mounted filler neck
Meziere BigBlock 55GMP Electric water pump
1.25" High pressure side hose
1.50" Low pressure side hose
2 x 1" hose between pump and block
VDO 250deg sender tapped into the filler neck exit flow
VDO 250deg sender tapped into the water pump body
VDO Water Temp gauge and SPDT switch
